Today’s students are more anxious than ever before, creating challenges for both schools and families. In this training, we will look at why anxiety is present in children and how it presents itself at home and at school. We will also discuss some whole group, proactive approaches in addressing anxiety as well as quick and personalized approaches for moments of high anxiety in children. Understanding our responses as a “helper” and how they increase or lessen anxiety will also be discussed. Finally, we will review a multitude of accommodations and strategies for use at both home and school and delve into coping skills that can be taught to children for life long use in helping them to lessen their anxiety.

This training will be held on September 24, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the ROE #3 Professional Development Center. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The cost to attend this training is $100/person and a light breakfast will be provided. Each participant will receive 3.0 PD hours upon completion of the training.
