NGSS: Becoming a Critical Consumer

This session will include a model activity to help ground discussion around evaluating instructional resources using a nationally recognized rubric for NGSS alignment. Participants will explore a practical framework for reviewing science materials and consider what it means for resources and instruction to truly reflect the intent of the standards.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Be introduced to a rubric for evaluating NGSS alignment
- Apply the rubric to a model activity
- Examine whether current instruction or curriculum is aligned to the standards
- Consider practical shifts to better align teaching and materials with the NGSS
This training will be held on September 22, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m. at the ROE #3 Professional Development Center. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The cost to attend this training is $150/person and lunch will be provided. Each participant will receive 6.0 PD hours upon completion of the training.
