According to Dr. William L. Heller, "Confining literacy skills to the ELA classroom makes about as much sense as allowing students to use wooden pencils only in the wood shop." No one understands their specific content better than the teacher of that discipline. Moreover, content area teachers are the ones who have the knowledge of reading, writing, listening, discussion, and deep-thinking skills that are required to understand content text. Come join Kelly Stewart to come learn ways to improve your students' content knowledge and literacy skills simultaneously.

This training will be held on October 3, 2024 at the ROE #3 Professional Development Center from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The cost to attend this training is $125/person and lunch will be provided. Each participant will receive 5.5 PD hours.
