High School Equivalency

High School Equivalency Testing (GED)

The Regional Office of Education no longer offers High School Equivalency testing. High School Equivalency Testing is done on computer at various locations in the area.

The current cost of the High School Equivalency Testing (GED) is $60 ($15 per battery). The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) offsets the cost.

Visit http://www.gedtestingservice.com to find nearby testing centers and to register for the test. An email address and credit/debit card are required to register.

The Regional Office of Education can still fulfill the Constitution Test requirement at no charge. Contact your local ROE office to arrange a time for testing.

To request a transcript or duplicate diploma from the Regional Office of Education, we recommend downloading and using the High School Equivalency (GED) Request Form

We will also accept written requests that include the following information:

  • Name

  • Social Security Number

  • Address where the transcript should be sent

  • Date of birth

  • Year and location of test

  • Telephone number in case of questions

  • We will also need a signature for release of information

  • Fees (Cash or money order only - No personal checks accepted)

    • Transcript: $6.00 per copy as of 7/1/2016

    • Certificate: $10.00 per copy
